Name: J-mee Katanyag
J-MEE KATANYAG is part of Philippine Educational Theater Association’s roster of young Artist-Teachers.
Since her play, "Betang", was staged in Virgin Labfest 10 in the Phillippines, J-mee pursued writing plays for schools, advocacy groups, and Philippines Educational Theater Association. Some of her written works for PETA are “Padayon”, a comedy informance which was part of PETA’s creative campaign in response to the typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) toward developing safe schools and resilient communities in Leyte, “Charot”, a play with music about Philippine Politics and Democracy, and “Tagu-Taguan, Nasaan Ang Buwan?” which won for Outstanding Original Libretto in the 10th Gawad Buhay Philstage Awards for the Performing arts.
In June 2019, she completed a 40-day performance collaboration with Kirari Cultural Centre of Fujimi, Japan, titled, Kinball, which she participated both as a Co-Playwright and a Performer.
J-mee is also a freelance actor for TV, film, commercials, and digital content.
