Kevin Dyer (UK)

Kevin has written over 60 commissioned plays. He has written plays for young audiences for over 25 companies across the world. He won the Writers' Guild of Great Britain 'Best play for Young Audiences' with The monster Under the Bed' and his adaptation of 'The Hobbit' won the 'Best Play' award from UK Theatre. Assitej awarded him one of their 'Most Inspirational International Playwright' Awards at their world conference in Capetown.

Recently, his play 'The Woman Who Crossed the Road' (Created with Najmeh Shoara) was shared online by Write Local Play Global, ASSITEJ, Storm in the North, Spinning Dot Theatre and Theatre Porto.

Kevin writes plays based on real events and real stories - a woman's journey from Iran; a man taking bread and hope back to Syria; how a woman whose dad was killed in a terrorist bomb befriends the man who planted the bomb; how a young boy cares for his Mum and younger sister, what happens to kids when their dad goes to war; what happened in Baghdad when the Americans and the Brits went in.
