Boëthius, Gunilla (Sweden)

Gunilla Boëthius was born in 1945. She has written several books for young adults and has been a prolific dramatist ever since her debut in 1981. Several of her plays have been produced by the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, Young Riksteatern, the Radio Drama Department at the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation and a number of alternative theatre groups. In 1992 she received the Prix d’Assitej Award for her plays for children and young adults. Gunilla Boëthius was awarded her first Special Commendation in the category for Radio Drama at the 1998 Prix Europa with her play The Kangaroo Girl. During the last few years her plays have been produced all over Europe.
